Welcome new staff members & congrats to those on the move!

As we start the 2020-2021 school year, there are new faces in the Switzerland of Ohio School District! Please give all these talented people a warm SOLSD welcome!

We also have people who have moved positions – we thank them for their dedication to our district and our students.

And great news – we have a marriage! Please congratulate Chelsea Robinson, a Behavior Therapist at Skyvue and Woodsfield Elementaries, who recently became Chelsea Hogue!

Congrats to you all!

Molly Davidson

Molly Davidson: Math Intervention Specialist at Monroe Central High School

Molly loves small towns: from growing up in St. Clairsville and spending lots of time with her dad’s family in Barnesville, she enjoys knowing everybody! She also enjoys the beautiful country in the area as she walks with her three dogs and takes photos of the people and places around SOLSD. When not walking and photographing, she relaxes by reading. She chose the Switzerland of Ohio Local School District because she loves how all the staff and faculty know the students and do whatever they can to help each and every student succeed.

Tisha Fackler

Tisha Fackler: Cook

Tisha loves helping and taking care of people, especially children, and her biggest hobby is staying busy! Originally from the Cambridge/Old Washington area, she attended the Muskingham Perry Career Center, studying Childhood Ed 1 and 2. She worked at the Cambridge Developmental Center for 16 years before coming to SOLSD 4 years ago as a sub because her children were in the district. Tisha loves it here because for her, it’s all about how people treat her: the school is like her family, and co-workers have welcomed her like their own.

Stacey Howiler

Stacey Howiler: Educational aide in the IS Classroom at River Elementary School

Stacey, a River alum, returns to help today's students learn and grow. She came to work at Switzerland of Ohio kind of by accident – she started subbing last year to earn some extra money, and she fell in love with working in the schools through the students and staff members she met. When the job became available, her heart told her to apply – and here she is! Stacey is married and has a son, and she enjoys relaxing with her family by playing board games and doing puzzles.

Olivia Fisher

Olivia Fisher: River Elementary School Nurse

Olivia is a SOLSD native born & bred. She grew up in Woodsfield and attended Woodsfield Elementary and Monroe Central High School. She currently lives in Beallsville with her husband, Justin, and daughter, Brielle. A people person, Olivia's favorite way to relax is to spend time with them and other friends. This is her first year as a school nurse, but she has previously worked with kids and is looking forward to bringing her nursing skills to River Elementary!

Erin Miller

Erin Miller: Exercise Science Teacher & Athletic Trainer at River High School

After graduating from Marietta College in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training with a minor in Psychology, Erin decided to return home to the Switzerland of Ohio School District. At River, she is just down the road from her hometown of Woodsfield and her high school alma mater, Monroe Central. Athletic training is vital for sports teams, and Erin is excited to bring these services to the district where she grew up. As a recently retired athlete, she is still trying to find hobbies that don’t involve being part of a team!

Marshall Mozena

Marshall Mozena: Exercise Science Teacher & Athletic Trainer at Monroe Central High School

As the district’s second Exercise Science Teacher/Athletic Trainer, Marshall has returned to the school from which he graduated in 2014, Monroe Central, because he wanted to give back to the place that raised him. As an Athletic Trainer, he provides emergency first aid to the sports teams as well as injury evaluation, diagnosis, rehabilitation and prevention services. Marshall earned his Bachelor’s degree from Marietta college in 2018 and his Master’s from Old Dominion University in 2020. He loves watching almost any sport he can find, as well as working out/lifting weights because staying active is important to him.

Charlee Prushing

Charlee Prushing: Agriscience Educator at Beallsville High School; Advisor of the Switzerland of Ohio FFA Chapter

Charlee comes to SOLSD after growing up in Circleville, south of Columbus, and graduating from The Ohio State University. She loves to get her hands dirty taking care of plants and preparing cut flowers. She has found the district to be incredibly welcoming so far!

Becca Ray

Becca Ray: Second/Third Grade English Language Arts Teacher at Beallsville Elementary School

Becca is a true transplant to Switzerland of Ohio: she grew upin Lincoln, Nebraska and earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has had the privilege of moving all around to different states because of her husband's job. Just prior to moving here, she was living in Pennsylvania and teaching preschool at Ben Franklin's Learning Center. Before that, she served as a sub in different states and taught fifth grade in Missouri. She’s excited to be here because last year, when she moved to the area, she started subbing and always felt welcomed – the teachers helped out whenever she needed it, and everyone was very friendly. When she’s not in the classroom, Becca loves to cook, travel, hike/camp, and run 5 and 10ks.

Heather Roberts

Heather Roberts: English Teacher at Swiss Hills Career Center

Heather is teaching all three grades at Swiss Hills, and she’s very excited to teach high schoolers for the first time in her career. She is also looking forward to teaching at a career center, as she feels there are a lot of career paths that don’t get the credit they deserve – and she’s excited to work somewhere that promotes those paths. Heather grew up in Noble County, Ohio and taught at Shenandoah Middle School. A true English teacher, Heather enjoys reading and writing, and this must be her favorite time of year, as she loves to watch horror movies!

Dave Wise

Dave Wise: Transportation Instructor at Swiss Hills Career Center

Immediately prior to joining Swiss Hills, Dave was driving a truck – but he couldn’t turn down the offer of teaching because he enjoyed his time at Belmont County JVS in the Adult Education Program, Belmont College, and Zane State University so much. Dave has taught many subjects, including Auto Mechanics, Welding, HVAC, Diesel Technology, and Heavy Equipment Maintenance. He also has a lot of experience outside of teaching, including as a heavy duty truck technician, tow truck operator, heavy equipment engine rebuild shop technician, Class A CDL truck driver, welder in a fabrication shop, and farmer. Wow! When he’s not helping students prepare for their futures, he enjoys farming, hunting, high-performance cars and trucks, and high performance diesel engines.
