As National School Bus Safety Week comes to a close, we want to thank our transportation personnel and bus drivers who have been working extremely hard to accompany all transportation needs of students who are attending school in-person and participating in remote learning. We observed National School Bus Safety Week this week (October 19-23), with the theme being: Red Light Means STOP! While we did implement some activities and safety drills for our students, we wanted to take this time to focus our attention on being grateful to our transportation staff.

With the spike of COVID-19 cases throughout the state of Ohio in the last few weeks, we have experienced school closures and students switching from in-person to remote learning, and vice versa. Our drivers have had to regularly adjust bus routes to ensure students are getting where they need to be, when they need to be there.

Make sure to thank you bus drivers a little extra for all the hard work they’ve been doing to adjust to our school district’s and students’ needs throughout this difficult time. While National School Bus Safety Week has come to a close, being thankful is a year-round celebration.
